- ALL PATTERNS
It should be understood that all patterns in fineartstitch.com use DMC floss and full stitch only.
All patterns include a Black Symbol Chart. Upgrade to a Color Symbol Chart for $3.00 or to a Full Color Chart for $5.00.
- FREE PATTERNS
Before stitching a real work, start with our FREE PATTERNS. You can order as many as you want, but please be aware that the shipping charge and printing fee ($2.00 per piece) is your responsibility. You will find working on a FREE PATTERN worthwhile and enjoyable.
- MINI PATTERNS
After you have tried a FREE PATTERN, next try a MINI PATTERN before moving on to regular or poster patterns. Mini patterns are made from real fine art work, just like regular or poster patterns, with the only difference being they are a smaller size or a partial area (detail). This is great for beginners to fine art stitch patterns or for people who have limited time to stitch. Consider keeping it for yourself and create a miniature fine art collection.
- REGULAR PATTERNS
REGULAR PATTERNS are the most popular patterns. We have more than 300 patterns to choose from.
- POSTER PATTERNS
The POSTER PATTERNS are larger in size than REGULAR PATTERNS. We have few collections in stock also will enlarge for you any REGULAR PATTERN upon request. Just let us know the approximate size that you want and allow about 48 hours for us to create a nice large pattern for you. Prices vary depending on size and start at $25.00.
- CUSTOM-MADE PATTERNS
Do you want to make a cross stitch from one of your photos?
We can make cross-stitch patterns of important moments in life such as birthday parties, graduations, or weddings using your photo.
When you have completed stitching our custom-made pattern, it will look just like the photo and viewers won¡¯t be able to tell the difference, unless you tell them. Prices vary. Send us your photo via mail or as a digital photo via e-mail and get a free estimate.
Also you can send us the painting image file via e-mail and indicate what size cross-stitch pattern you would like but remember there are some important considerations: the copyright on the painting must have already expired and the image must be large and clear. If these requirements are not met, we might find it necessary to decline your order. We appreciate your understanding.

- Choosing appropriate photo for making patterns
Picture has to be at least 2¡± x 2¡±. It is suggested that the size of a face be at least 1¡± x 1¡±
These are approximate sizes if your order is using a photo of people. Of course your pattern will provide closer detail the larger the photo is. However, consider the cost to make a pattern when using a larger photo. This idea is offered just as a suggestion.

- TIPS FOR STITCHING FINEARTSTITCH PATTERNS
Items Needed:
* Use aida cloth 6 to 8 inches larger in dimension than the finished size to allow for edging (See our recommend fabric size on each pattern)
* a water erasable fabric marking pen
* as many needles as possible
* some highlighters
* a lap stand frame (scrolling frame). A lap stand frame is better to use with our patterns because they are too large to be held with a regular round frame or Q-snaps. In addition, it prevents frame marks.
* DMC flossUsing the water erasable pen, draw lines on the fabric for every 10 stitch counts and number every grid (block). There is no need to mark the whole fabric at once, do a bit at a time. The markings of the water erasable pen will remain.
Start your work (with page 1) in the upper left corner of the fabric rather than at the center which is the traditional way. Stitch one grid completely before moving on to an adjacent one.
Start stitching with a symbol that appears the most in the block, continuing in this manner until the entire page is stitched. Remember that you have to keep your stitching going in the same direction, meaning if you start your stitch by entering the needle from the left bottom and going to the upper right then you have to keep all stitches going first from the left bottom to the upper right before you go from the right bottom to the upper left. This makes for neat work. Use the corner numbers on each page to determine which page you are to begin next to or below the one you just finished. After you finish stitching a grid, you can mark it off on your pattern with a highlighter to help you keep track of your finished work.MORE TIPS
* have needles threaded with different colors of floss so that they will be ready and you won¡¯t have to change floss each time you move to a different symbol
* you may feel let down as you work on the initial blocks, but don¡¯t give up, keep stitching and as you make progress you will see shapes appear. You will be amazed to see the design develop before your eyes.![]()
